Where did summer go?! I took a few trips this summer: Chicago for T Swift with my sister (it was epic) and Colorado for a wedding (also incredible). I haven't been on the blog or social media as much as usual because of our big move!

We are headed even further north to Marquette, Michigan on Lake Superior. Honestly, I'm still in shock, but I went up with Ryan a few weeks ago to see the town and experience a little taste of summer. Lake Superior is the largest inland body of water in the world so it really feels like we're living on the coast again (which I love). We hit the beach every day and attempted SUP surfing for the first time since living in Maui. Despite being terrified about real winter, I am excited about our new adventure; if you have any favorite Upper Peninsula adventures send me a note or leave a comment. Labor Day Weekend Inspiration - August #theusiscooltoo

I can't believe it is already Labor Day weekend. I'm not ready to send summer off just yet and going through the August submissions for #theusiscooltoo has me craving a beach trip asap. I'm in Bloomington this weekend so I plan going hiking and swimming around the lake. There will likely some beer drinking on a patio somewhere as well.

What’s the best way to see the South? That’s up for debate but the train is one of the top, especially the Crescent Line that goes back and forth from New Orleans. We took it last summer from Atlanta and while it took most of a whole day, the views were great and there was free WiFi. It’s super affordable as well! #thisismysouth

Fantasy Canyon - Utah - United States⠀ .⠀ This might’ve been one of the luckiest shots I’ve ever taken. I’d almost given up on finding this canyon and decided to climb one last hill. I was rewarded with this view. Better yet, the sun was setting just as a storm was blowing in.⠀ . ⠀ The night certainly wasn’t as pretty. It stormed for hours and the wind blew my tent pretty sideways. I spent several hours hanging out in the car waiting for it to pass. The plus is that it resulted in some spectacular lightning! ⠀ .⠀ One thing that was enjoyable about this canyon was the little signs sprinkled throughout pointing to different formations. They have names like “laughing witch” or “howling wolf”. It’s fun trying to see the shape in the rocks. ⠀ .⠀ What’s the craziest storm you’ve ever been in? Topsail Island’s Pier is probably the most photographed spot on the island. For a small fee, you can walk out and go fishing or set up your hammock underneath. 🌴
