Packing List: Charleston
Next week I'll be Charleston bound for The Southern C Summit. I'm a notorious procrastinator when it comes to packing so I'm getting a head start for once.
In addition to procrastinating, I'm also an over packer. One day I'll master getting down to one carryon but I like to have lots of options.
One of the most important things for me to bring is my laptop bag by Alesya Bags. It is one of my favorite pieces for traveling especially by plane. I can fit my laptop, cords, phones, wallet, headphones, and external hard drives in this beautiful bag and look professional. This is a great bag for conferences too because of all the compartments - everything has its place. P.S. Alesya has a brand new collection of bags that are gorgeous! Click here to check them out.
Charleston is one of my favorite destinations because of it's coastal vibe. It's a fashionable city for sure so you have to look good but you want to be comfortable too so you can stroll the cobblestone streets for the afternoon and then heading to dinner and drinks. The Southern C Summit is a fun three day networking event packed with learning sessions and parties so for the most part I'll bring outfits that I can wear all day and transition to evening if I don't have time to change. It's also quite warm in the spring and summer months so lightweight dresses are my go to.
I've recently discovered (thanks to Instagram) the brand Amuse Society. Their brand is west coast flouncy dresses and tees with a bohemian vibe for sure. I scored this dress recently in Chicago at Una Mae's in Wicker Park and can't wait to wear it.
There are so many outdoor activities in Charleston. Whether you're jogging the Battery, surfing in Folly Beach, or exploring the Farmers Market on Saturdays, make sure you have comfortable clothing to keep you cool and help shield your skin. On Friday morning before our farewell brunch, I'm going to a detox yoga class with Charleston Power Yoga and Coolibar on the rooftop of the Mills House Hotel. After three days of non stop activity, rich southern food, and cocktails I will definitely need a detox. I'll be rocking this cool pop art inspired Coolibar swim shirt during the class. Coolibar is clothing line that designs UPF 50 clothing perfect for your summer adventures. I'm going to be wearing it all summer long paddle boarding on Lake Monroe too. Click here for more Coolibar.
I love me some vintage jewelry so I'll be bringing a few of my favorite pieces I've collected over the years as well as some new vintage inspired baubles. I recently discovered Rocksbox (aka netflix for jewels) just in time for the Summit, and just received my first set including this funky chain from House of Harlow 1960. If you love jewelry but don't want to invest a lot of money in your jewelry collection you should check this out.
