The Most Packable & Comfortable Outfit for Travel

Lynt Floral Jumpsuit

Y'all know from my Instagram stories that I hate packing more than anything. I'm all about cute and comfortable clothes, but for some reason when I go on a trip I stuff my suitcase with too many options and end up wearing about a third of what I have packed. Sound familiar? Since summer is almost over (can you believe it?), and the Labor Day will be here before you know it, I'm sharing the most comfortable (maybe the cutest too) romper that just happens to be the perfect piece to pack for your next trip. You can dress it up or down and wear it most importantly wear it more than once.

While searching for outfit inspiration for my trip to Austin last summer, I came across  Lynt on Instagram and was immediately drawn to her casual, beachy vibe. The jumpsuits and rompers were so different than anything I'd ever seen before, effortlessly cool. I discovered that the whole line is made of high-performance fabrics so you feel like you're wearing workout clothes (isn't that the dream?) without looking like it.

I knew the bachelorette party in Austin would involve long days and nights with plenty of eating and drinking, so I wanted something that would travel well and be comfortable to wear for several hours. After chatting with the designer, Andrea Tobin, her rompers seemed to fit the bill and settled on the aline black floral short romper with sleeves. I’m typically a size 8 in pants and 4-6 on top and ended up ordering a large in this style.

This outfit was perfect for a night out in Austin. It was easy to dress up with accessories but I was still really comfortable in the oppressive heat. The fabric is UV protective, wrinkle resistant, antimicrobial, and quick-drying making it easy to pack and wear day to night. I've swapped my Chacos for ankle boots and a clutch for dinner on more than one occasion.

Since Austin, I’ve worn the romper on the Las Vegas Strip, beach walking in St. Simons Island, shopping and pizza in Crested Butte Colorado, and countless adventures in Bloomington, Indiana. Even though I've worn it more times than I can count, it looks as good as the day I bought it.

I recently sat down with Andrea to find out more about Lynt and how she came up with clothing that "feels like gym clothes, looks like real clothes."

Q&A with Andrea Tobin, creator of Lynt

What was the inspiration behind Lynt? I’m guessing living in Southern California played a big part?

Andrea: "Growing up in Southern California played a huge role in the inspiration of Lynt.  We joke that San Diego is a vacation forever culture. We can be outside basically 365 days a year and with the mountains just an hour east, Mexico a half hour south and the beach right at our feet, it's no wonder we spend so much time out and about. I live a very active on the go lifestyle and really wanted to make clothes that could keep up with me but didn't look like your typical gym attire. Everything is made from high-tech performance fabrics but in silhouettes of everyday garments, like high waisted shorts, rompers, jumpsuits, bodysuits, dresses and more. You can wear these to the beach, for a hike, to the park, wherever. Lynt being so durable and wrinkle free they are perfect for travel, via plane, car, bike, scooter and even van life. I developed some of my first pieces 2 years ago and I promise I have not been gentle with them and they still look brand new."

Have you always been in the fashion industry?

Andrea: "Pretty much. I worked as the manager at Betsey Johnson while I went to fashion school then when I graduated I worked for a triathlon clothing company for about 5 years. It was working there that changed my lifestyle, I very much go into riding bikes and fell in love with the comfort and durability of performance wear."

What's your favorite destination in the USA?

Andrea: Hmm... I think I really enjoy visiting my close friends in NYC and San Francisco and it helps they live in cool cities. When in SF I enjoy cycling and sailing and in NYC typical sightseeing and a visit to the garment district is a must.

I knew I’d like Lynt's clothing because the fabric is so comfortable and makes you look more put together than wearing yoga pants. What is your go-to piece when you’re on the road?

Andrea: "Hands down the jet set jumpsuit paired with the wrap hoodie, especially for flying. I usually get cold and I can pull up the giant hood and get cozy. The best part is I always receive compliments on my outfit :) "

Can't you see yourself in one of these riding bikes at the beach or spending the afternoon beer tasting? Now's your chance to win one.
